With it now being October (the month of my birth... not so yay as it means I am now growing older and therefore, must grow wiser... or at least pretend to), I guess I can safely say that it would be a good time to look for a decent winter coat. Ever since I turned into a fashion obsessed teenager, I have survived with coats from various high street stores from Topshop to Dorothy Perkins to Urban Outfitters; however, this winter, I want something a little more... If only I weren't on this shopping ban! So this post, in essence, is a fashion lust, rather than a post about something I may end up buying - because I am determined not to break this ban! (On that note, two months and going strong - I've not had an urge to purchase anything thus far, bonus!)
I'm looking for a coat which I won't tire of next winter; and for that reason, I looked on net-a-porter (in the hope that these coats may end up on the outnet when my shopping ban ends!).
The first of these coats is by Burberry Prorsum - a label which is a personal favourite of mine. To me, Burberry is the epitome of effortless chic but with a bit of grunge mixed in. In my eyes, it also a youthful label.
This coat is by Burberry Prorsum and is priced at a bank busting £1,395. Clearly way out of my budget but... if it does appear on the outnet next summer, I may find it hard not to splurge if it were to be reduced 50%... The colour is divine; the button detail is perfect and the quality would also be many times better than any high street offerings! (Though, I may take a look in Whistles or Hobbs before confirming this opinions of mine!).
Offering number two is by trendy brand A.P.C. At £430, it is priced more reasonably and the duffle coat is a classic which comes back every season. The colour is standard navy and would go with 99% of my wardrobe! However, I am looking for that something which is more individual and a standard duffle coat is not that... But I have to say, I am tempted by this duffle coat...
Last but not least is this wonderful cape by Diane von Furstenberg. I am a lover of all things capey, I must admit and this one does it for me 100%. At £365, again, it is reasonable and is definitely worth the price if I will never grow to hate it, which I don't think I could (well, especially with that price tag!). However, I have to consider practicalities and a cape compromises on that front. It is fashionable, yes, and it looks chic and somewhat Parisian (especially if worn with a beret) but practical? I would be kidding myself if I tried to say it was...
With that comes the conclusion of my lust on this season's winter wool coats. As much as I would love to say I am purchasing one of these beauts, I have to confess that I actually won't be due to the aforementioned shopping ban! But that doesn't mean I can't lust, right?
