in search of the perfect blue-black ink #2: pelikan edelstein tanzanite

So part two (of possibility infinity) of my search for the perfect blue-black ink... This time, it's the turn of Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite. The bottle design is absolutely gorgeous and it definitely gives of a more premium air. I'll let the pictures do the talking for this one (as the review is pretty much in the scan below!).

Previously reviewed in this quest for the perfect blue-black ink: Platinum blue-black cartridges.

Here is how it looks in use...

  1. That actually reminds me of a diluted Diamine Eclipse with a little more blue. Of course, Eclipse is much cheaper and meant to be purple.
Can't wait to see the rest of this series. I'm discovering new inks this series to try out!

    1. May have to add Diamine Eclipse to my list of inks to try! Already got a huge long list as it is but Diamine inks have been excellent so far in my limited experience. x

  2. Edelstein inks are gorgeous, and although I'm sorry it isn't the perfect blue-black for you, I'm glad it hasn't put you off the possibility of trying their other offerings! (Aquamarine is, apparently, this year's ink of the year, and if the ink colour is anything like the shade in their teaser picture, it's going to be a gorgeous offering.)

Now I can't wait to see the rest of your series! Blue-black inks intrigue me, and it's not exactly a realm I've stepped towards.

    1. Edelstein inks definitely make me feel like I'm adding a bit of luxury to my daily, pen-using life :) Blue-black inks are perfect as I like a blue ink but when it comes to writing in patient notes, black ink is preferred so this is a happy medium ;) x

  3. Hi!

Somebody might have already mentioned this, but they sell ink samples at purepens.co.uk. I'm currently waiting for some Pilot Iroshizuku ones, and even international shipping costs are really reasonable.

    Best wishes,
    Nika
