How on earth is it already December?! Instead of a conventional advent calendar this year, I'm reading The Christmas Mystery by Jostein Gaarder and The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. The Christmas Mystery lends itself well as an alternative to a chocolate advent calendar as it is split into one chapter a day from the 1st to the 24th of December.
