your filofax week! (week #9)

This week, I'm featuring diary pages from.... Doris! Here is what she had to say about her Filofax use:

"I've been using a Dodopad as a Diary in my Filofax since April, and I'm liking it so far.  It's very similar to the Filofax Week on One page with Notes, which is my preferred format, but more fun and colorful, and needs very little embellishment to make it look interesting.  I have tiny handwriting so the grids work fine for me, but I'm still eagerly awaiting the 2013 version with bigger grids.

The one thing I've been doing differently lately is to write out a menu for the week.  I now just refer to this during the week to make it easier for me to plan out what meals to prepare. There's enough room on the left side of the weekly view for a to-do list as well."

And I have to say, I love how she uses her Filofax to plan her week; not to mention the adorable handwriting! Love the meal planning - I tried and failed for two weeks so I will definitely try again now and I just love the DodoPad inserts. This diary definitely looks more organised than mine!

What do you guys think of Doris' diary? Do you use the DodoPad inserts too?

    1. Hi Elaine! It's an idea borrowed from another Filo user. I wish I could remember so I can give credit.

  5. @Alison: I've been slacking on that a bit, but I find if I think of a meal I want to eat, I just write it down in next week's space so I don't forget. Helps me keep up with the week's menu. Good luck with your own meal planning!

  7. I'm so glad to see the Dodo pad in action. I've been going back and forth about purchasing this. I just don't know if the small grid boxes will work. I have small writing but it still looks way too small. I think that seeing all of that valuable unused space around the grid makes me feel that it's not a good layout. I am completely in love with the colorful ness of the pages tho. What to do, what to do....

  8. I use the personal Dodo Pad as well, and I love it!
It's the kind of layout that you can totally adapt to your needs - either as Doris has done, or you can divide up your day into chunks of time as I do, I have each square represent 3 hours, so each day 5 horizontal squares cover the period 8am-8pm, with the 6th square for extra notes. I then write across the squares according to the starting time & length of the particular task/work shift, which then leaves blank spaces where you have 'free' time.
I find it really useful to see my time laid out like this.

And I love the colourfulness of the pages as well! I could never go back to a 'boring' diary insert :)
Oh and I have small writing, but I don't find it too small at all. I do look forward to the larger 2013 grid though.
