martha stewart x staples journals

As promised, here is a closer look at the Martha Stewart Home Office journals. The first type is the 'Shagreen Journal'. It has an elastic that goes over the whole journal (vertically) as a way of fastening.

Opening the journal, you're greeted with this:

Followed by a note from Martha:

The pages have a space for the date at the top. Ideal for use as a journal or even as a planner. This particular one came with entertaining tips.

At the back, there is an inside pocket. (I forgot to take a picture of this!)

Now, a look at the 'Smooth-Finish' journals. I got one in pink and one in red. They had none of the aqua coloured ones left :(

Not dissimilar to the Shagreen journal, the first page has these in them with the background colour corresponding to the external colour of the notebook.

At the front, there are tips for journalling:

Plus, space for important dates:

Again, the pages have a space at the top for a date or a title and so, these notebooks are definitely ideal as a journal. They could also have other uses, such as a recipe book or a book for planning events.

I have to say that I am in love with these journals. I do keep a diary and usually use it for keeping important tickets and other momentos in them. And I also use it for typical journalling too.

What do you guys think? Have I tempted any of you into getting some too? :D

  1. The tips are so cute! I would love to be able to fill one up. The crinkling of written on paper is so... good.

I sound like such a weirdo.

    1. I know, right?! And I agree with you on the crinkling front. Therefore, we are both weirdos together ;) x

  2. Mmm, thank you for showing these - they really are adorable! I've been reading a lot about the bound notebooks again lately - I have almost forgotten how nice they feel (having been emerged into the FilofaxWorld for so long)! :)

    1. Hehe no problem! These journals make me so excited to be keeping a diary again (just like when I was 15-18 when I kept a regular one) :) They actually make me want to write! The only problem now is writing the first word... they seem too pretty to use! x

  3. I actually wanted the biggest size (in the shagreen model) but I think it might be a bit too big? So refrained from purchasing that one. I can't wait to use them all and then have them sitting on a shelf and looking pretty! (Imagine, the turqoisey green, light pink and bright red = awesome colour burst on a white shelf?!). I'm good! I hope you are well too :) x

  4. I love the Martha line, so attractive but neat but fun. Wish it was totally compatable with filofax. The only thing you don't have to repunch is an insert thing with flags/tabs on it. If they can use elongated holes on that why not all of them????

    1. We don't have the flag/tab insert over here :( I would love for Martha Stewart to bring out Filofax compatible diary pages or something. I'd definitely buy those (and the paper quality would be superior to the Filofax brand ones too) x
