my filofax week #28

Some of you may know that I voiced my frustration at how this feature is no longer unique to Paper Lovestory. It's frustrating because when I started it, it was something that no other blog had done and I wanted it to be something individual to this blog. However, it seems, like fashion, that nothing ever stays original or individual. I don't think my frustration will lessen as it is hard to come up with original ideas when it comes to blogging but the response I got overwhelmed me.

Thank you to everyone who replied on Twitter :) Because of you guys, this feature isn't going anywhere. Here is this week:

{ It is quite boring as I've been quite busy, but busy with impromptu things as opposed to planned events/meetings! }

{ Watch out for an upcoming post about my graduation :) I've tweeted some sneak pics already but there are a few extra ones in the post; for example, a picture of the inside of the Royal Albert Hall! }

{ I decorated my week with a sticker from Imy on the Friday, as well as a Korilakkuma book mark at the top of the right page and two stickers from Artbox and Paperchase. }

{ All in all, a plainer week than usual - but there really has been nothing interesting to record! }

  2. Congratulations on your graduation :)
    I'm sorry to hear that you've found it frustrating that your feature is no longer unique, but I figure imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I'm rarely on Twitter so didn't see your tweets.

    I love seeing your colourful weekly diaries & am very glad you're still going to do it!

    1. Thank you! I know what you mean, but I still can't help but feel a bit frustrated about it as it was a way to make my blog stand out (if that makes sense) and now it is no longer that way - even though I feel it should be :(

      And thank you for the kind comment :) I will be continuing with this feature for the time being :) x

  3. If you made a blog button with the code for your blog underneath (as in when you click the button it comes here) then you could open it up to other bloggers and also gain traffic at the same time. People could put the button on their post and/or in the sidebar of their blog.

    Sometimes making something a community event instead of trying to hold onto it has surprising (and positive) repercussions which are a pleasant surprise.

    1. That's actually quite a good idea :) I'll consider it for the future cos I'd prefer to try and keep it unique to this blog for the time being - I kinda wanted people to associate this series with Paper Lovestory (just like Web Finds and FFAF/FFATs are associated with Philofaxy, etc) :) x

    2. In the Knitting Community there are all sorts of these things, WIP Wednesday (Work In Progress) is one.

      I run a thing called Making Monday on my blog and I really need to do a button for it. I always intended it to be a kind of hub, so if people join in they come to my blog as the central point and add a comment to say they have blogged MM too... then we all go and read each other's blogposts and sometimes I put up a list of links to them on the Tuesday if I have time.

      It looks like these posts... http://theyarnyard.co.uk/blog/?s=Making+Monday&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

    3. The thing is, I intended for this feature to be niche to Paper Lovestory's (if that makes sense, I'm not sure it does!). It is, in a way, offering something different to other Filofax/stationery blogs and that is why I started this feature. It's not that I'm trying to hold onto it - like I said, I just wanted it to be unique to any other blog of the same genre :) I have featured other people's weeks too within this feature too.

      As a blogger, I've found it hard to think of original ideas (I mean, there are so many other great bloggers out there, someone will have inevitably blogged about any idea I come up with) and I felt this was a good, original idea?

      I love that you have a Knitting Community - it makes me wish that I could knit but unfortunately, I don't think I'd have the patience to! x

    4. The knitting community is MASSIVE. There's a site called ravelry.com which has (are you sitting down?) two million members, worldwide.

      Have you seen Project 333... http://theproject333.com/getting-started/ Minimalism and wardrobe decluttering.

    5. Yup, I've seen Project 333. I've been wanting to do that for a while - hoping to start it in the new year :) and woah, 2 million members is a number to be in awe of :) x
